Nessa Diab is not holding back when it comes to her husband, Colin Kaepernick. The radio personality is doubling down on her recent tweet about Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez allegedly orchestrating smear campaigns. After Nickis fiery X rants about Roc Nations alleged shady tactics, Nessa hopped on social media to back her up, making accusations about how Jay-Z and company allegedly tried to tarnish Colins reputation. On Friday, July 13, 2025, Nessa jumped on Instagram Live to set the record straight, and LiveBitez snagged the clip! She revealed shes revisiting old claims because Nicki Minajs recent X posts struck a nerve. Nessa said Nicki shared her experience of going through different smear campaigns and what happens behind the scenes involving Jay-Z, Desiree Perez, and Roc Nation. This reignited Nessas fire, as she explained, Sadly, I knew it wasnt even a question because I saw it happen to Colin, and I called this out years ago. Furthermore, she urged fans to do your research, go back to the timeline, its all there, insisting shes not new to exposing this alleged sabotage from Colins NFL protest days.
Nessa didnt hold back on Hov either, sharing more allegations on how Jay-Z allegedly threw Colin under the bus. She claimed smear campaigns tried to discredit Colin publicly, to sway people to think that Colin was okay with being blackballed, or [Colin] was asking for a lot of money to play again. However, Nessa shut that last rumor down, emphasizing that Colin was never offered a job following his protest.
Additionally, Nessa made accusations over Jay-Zs 2019 NFL Inspire Change deal, alleging that he never consulted Colin before signing the agreement. Jay-Z only spoke to Colin after he made that deal, and he was okay with it and knew exactly what it would do to Colin, she said, adding, You know how I know? I was there. I heard the conversation. Nessas claiming Jay-Zs move was a calculated play to boost the NFLs image while leaving Colin sidelined.
On July 16, Nessa lit up X with a post accusing Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and Desiree of orchestrating smear campaigns against her partner. Her tweet read:
@NICKIMINAJ exposing the smear campaign tactics that Jay-Z, Roc Nation, Desiree Perez did to her behind the scenes, is VERY similar to what I was told they did to @Kaepernick7 when Jay purposely co-opted Colins protest by siding with the NFL to help their image after they blackballed Colin for his protest.
Additionally, Nessa alleged Roc Nation pocketed an alleged $5 million a year for five years to bury Colins protest movement and shift the narrative from his blackballing. She even shaded Desiree’s 2021 Trump pardon, hinting at alleged NFL owner ties.
