Well, roomies, this is one way to save coins! A New York couple is going viral after revealing that they saved thousands of dollars by charging their wedding guests a fee to attend. Nova and Reemo Styles had their guests cough up $333 each to join them at their love celebration, per ABC 7.

New York Couple Saved BIG With Their Wedding Guest Fee
As mentioned, the Styles recently opened up about saving their coins by collecting a guest fee for their wedding. They married in June 2023. However, their wedding day hack recently picked up steam after recap videos of their occasion went viral.
The bride, Nova, recently told ABC 7 that they considered their wedding a premium event and decided guests should pay the price.
“And I said, ‘People choose to go to Beyoncé concerts because they know that they’re gonna have an experience. Let’s put the stress on the guests, and let’s sell tickets for a wedding,” she said.
In the sit-down interview, Reemo revealed that he initially believed people weren’t going to attend. Ultimately, 60 of the 150 invited guests paid and came, per The Daily Mail. However, others clapped back about the $333 fee, and an estimated 80% of their guests bowed out. Nova recalled an invitee asking them, “Who do you guys think you are? Jay-Z and Beyoncé?”
In the end, the couple enjoyed their dream wedding and saved an estimated $70,000 with their guests’ contribution.

So, what did wedding guests get besides witnessing Black love deepen? The Styles said the wedding ticket earned friends and family a spot on a double-decker tour bus, a steak and lobster dinner, and a 12-hour New York City adventure.
Man Reveals Plans To Charge His Guests $450 Attendance Fee
Nova and Reemo Styles aren’t the only ones stirring up mixed reactions to their wedding guest fee.
A man who goes by the name Hassan Rahim on Instagram recently revealed alleged plans to charge his guests $450. He claimed that everyone he and his fiancée invited to their gathering has “declined the invitation.” Rahim added that they’d spent between $100,000 to $200,000 on the wedding venue and paid for the cake, a wedding dress, a DJ, and a photographer. Then, he uttered a statement similar to Nova’s: people pay for concerts, so why not a loved one’s wedding?
Note that The Shade Room could not find any evidence online of Rahim’s upcoming nuptials or his alleged bride. His Instagram bio says “divorced” in it. Additionally, TikTok videos posted earlier in the year show he’s moved at least twice in the last eight months and joked about buying a home. So, at this time, The Shade Room has been unable to corroborate Hassan’s viral claims.
However, a repost of his video on TSR’s Instagram has sparked debates on the topic of charging wedding guests. As of Monday (August 12), the video has collected over 60,000 comments from the roommates.
