NFL Teams Reportedly Begin To Pull Out Of Private Workout With Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick seems to be excited about possibly making the NFL his home again. He has reportedly organized a workout for NFL teams in Atlanta this weekend, but things may not go according to plan.

Kaep hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2016 season, following his choice to protest police brutality by kneeling during the singing of the National Anthem during football games.

Now, Kaep hopes to make his way back into the league, but it looks like team executives are not convinced or moved by his eagerness.

Reporter Adam Schefter, who broke the news about Kaep’s practice, sends an update on where teams stand for the weekend. Things just might be a no go.

“Several executives with teams have reached out as a courtesy to Colin Kaeprnick’s representatives saying they couldn’t attend Saturday’s workout and were confused by the purpose of the NFL scheduling this workout,” Adam tweeted.

As we previously reported, Kaep’s practice is just one of the steps he is taking to get back in the good graces of the league. All teams are reportedly invited to attend the workout, and video will be distributed to teams as well.

“Several clubs inquired as to Kapernick’s football readiness and both him and his reps have frequently expressed his desire for him to return to the league,” reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted. “The NFL has arranged this opportunity for him to work out, and for all clubs to have the opportunity to evaluate him.”

Whether or not Kaepernick will get that chance at evaluation is unclear, as he nor his camp have commented on the current state of the workout. It has also not been specified which teams have chosen not to attend.
