It looks like another biopic is on its way, and this time it’s all about rapper Roxanne Shanté.

The Queens rapper gained popularity back in the 80’s, mostly known for the Roxanne Wars and her association with the Juice Crew, now her story will be coming to the big screen.

Actor and director Forest Whitaker will produce the film, which is expected to release in 2017. The film will focus on Roxanne’s journey from a 14-year-old rapper to hip-hop legend.

Filming is currently underway in Queens, NY and Roxanne posted a photo with her and Nia Long earlier this week with the caption, “When your sister Nia Long is playing your Mama MissPeggy in the 80’s. You can only feel so honored and so so blessed. #roxanneroxanne The Movie The Roxanne Shante story#plzbelieveit”
