Nick Cannon To Return To ‘Wild ‘N Out’ After Publicly Apologizing For Anti-Semitic Comments (Update)

According to @entertainmenttonight, Nick Cannon is set to return to ‘Wild ‘N Out.’ This comes seven months after initially being fired for his anti-Semitic comments.

In a statement to ET, a spokesperson stated, “Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson told ET. “Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.”

Most recently, it was reported that Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury will launch Nick’s nationally syndicated talk show with the Fox Television Stations as the anchor. The upcoming talk show is being described as an “exciting, fun and uplifting show reflecting Cannon’s brand of celebrity, music, comedy and pop culture,” according to Deadline.

Nick talked about his talk show and said, “It’s been a longtime dream of mine to host my own daytime talk show and that I’m able to do this in New York City, bringing daytime television back to the place that has fostered generations of talent, is very special to me. With this show, we’ll be uniting all aspects of entertainment in a unique way in the very place where a lot of what we know today as our culture started. I couldn’t ask for better partners than Debmar-Mercury and Fox and thank them for supporting me in this endeavor.”

As previously reported, @Variety exclusively reports, Nick Cannon, host of the popular reality competition series “The Masked Singer,” has recently been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19. As a result, he will not be able to host the first few episodes of the show’s new season—that’s where Niecy Nash comes in. Niecy has been chosen to fill in in for Nick temporarily until he is clear to return to the set.

Niecy will begin taking over as guest host when production begins on February 4th for the fifth season of “The Masked Singer.” Meanwhile, Nick Cannon is reportedly currently in quarantine and resting, one of his representatives confirmed. The FOX network expects Nick to return to the series later in the season.
