Nicki Minaj is making her return to the big screen.
According to Variety, Nicki Minaj has joined the cast of the upcoming film “Angry Birds Movie 2.” The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 16, 2019.
Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride, and Peter Dinklage will be reprising their roles from the first film. Nicki joins the cast along with Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Lil Rel Howery, Dove Cameron, and Zach Woods.
Nicki’s role in the film is not known at the moment.
The film will be directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice. The first film released back in 2016 and grossed a total of $350 million worldwide. The release of the sequel coincides with the 10th anniversary of the “Angry Birds” video game.
This is not Nicki’s first animated film, she also starred in the 2012 film “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” Her other film credits include, “The Other Woman,” “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” and “Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.”
