Time may heal all wounds, but it looks like Will Smith is still unpacking his feelings over that infamous 2022 Oscars moment. In a now-viral clip, the actor and rapper appears to revisit the explosive moment when he stormed the stage and slapped Chris Rock—an incident that shook Hollywood and sparked global headlines.

Will Smith Seemingly Raps About Viral Slap AGAIN!
In a newly released ‘Fire in the Booth’ freestyle with Charlie Sloth, Smith apparently aims bars at the heart of the Oscars incident. Many fans online are interpreting the lines as Smith standing firm in his controversial decision that night. Without naming names, Will Smith is seemingly still addressing the fallout through his music rather than public statements.
“If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage,” and “Jokers dish it out, cry foul when its time to take it,” Will raps. “City full of real ones, wasn’t raised to fake it.”

Reading Between Will’s Lines
Remember back in March 2022 when Will stormed the stage and slapped a comedian after a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head? Yeah, that whole thing broke the internet and had everyone talking. Since then, Will has been dropping subtle hints about the drama in his songs—especially on his recent album ‘Based on a True Story.’ The intro track, ‘Int. Barbershop – Day,’ with DJ Jazzy Jeff and B. Simone, gives major vibes about the emotional fallout from that night.
In April, Rock’s brother, comedian Tony Rock, didn’t hold back when asked about Smith’s new album. In a blunt exchange with paparazzi at LAX, Tony called the project “a piece of sh*t.” He also added, “It’s a great time to be a comic,” a clear jab referencing the viral slap and its impact on stand-up comedy and public discourse.
Social Media Reacts
Social media is buzzing with mixed reactions to Will Smith’s latest freestyle. In The Art Of Dialogue’s X comments, some fans praise him for being raw and appreciating how he’s using music to process the drama. Others feel he should finally move on and not keep bringing up the slap, saying it’s time to let the moment rest.
