Omar Epps Added To ‘Power’ Spin-Off “Power Book III: Raising Kanan”

#Roommates, the original “Power” may be officially over, but a collection of spin-offs are already in the works. Following the previous announcement of Mary J. Blige and Method Man starring in in the first planned spin-off, “Power Book II: Ghost”—it has just been revealed that Omar Epps has been cast in the third spin-off surrounding the character of Kanan.

It hasn’t even been a week since the Starz hit series “Power” officially ended its run after six seasons. Luckily for fans of the show, there is a lot more coming from the “Power” universe—a total of four spin-offs to be exact. According to @Shadow_Act, Omar Epps has been tapped to bring his talents to “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” which is a prequel.

The show revolves around the younger days of Kanan, including how he got started in the criminal underworld and became a drug dealer before eventually being killed. As for Omar, the details of his character are being kept tightly under wraps—but he is said to be a major character on the show.

In addition to Mary J. Blige and Method Man, “Power Book II: Ghost” will also star Naturi Naughton and Michael Rainey Jr. both reprising their roles as Tasha St. Patrick and Tariq St. Patrick. The series will show what happens to the characters following the end of “Power.”

Then there are the two remaining spin-offs, “Power Book IV: Influence” centering around Larenz Tate’s character, Councilman Rashad Tate, as he fiercely takes on his political aspirations. That series will be followed by “Power Book V: Force,” which catches up with the character Tommy Egan as he leaves New York City for good and heads for California.
