Paris Jackson Shares A Video Message Addressing Michael Jackson Super Fans

On Tuesday, Paris Jackson took to Instagram to share a video to the critics who “abused, manipulated, and harassed” her for not posting her late father on his birthday. In the video, she explained that when Michael Jackson was alive, he would “hate anybody acknowledging his birthday” or “wishing him a happy birthday.”

“He actually didn’t want us to even know when his birthday was, because he didn’t want us to throw a party or anything like that…”

Jackson went on to explain that “social media is apparently how people express their love and affection these days.”

“…and if you don’t wish someone a’‘Happy Birthday’ via social media, it apparently means that you don’t love them, that you don’t care about them,” she explained sarcastically.

The 25-year-old then went on to admit that there has been times when she doesn’t “post anything” for her late father’s birthday. In these instances, the public seems to “measure” her love for her father based off that.

The 25-Year-Old Includes A Video Of Her Performance On Her Father’s Birthday For The Critics

As Jackson continued, she explained that she “made” her critics “a little video” which she hopes they “enjoy.” The screen then cuts to her perfomance earlier that day where she acknowledged her father’s birthday and paid tribute to his life and career.

“It’s also my dad’s birthday and he would have been 65 years old today and he put 50 years of blood, sweat, and tears and love and passion into doing what he did so I can stand up here… and scream into a microphone. So I owe everything to him…”

As the video cut back to Jackson, she explained that if someone is “an MJ super fan” and they would like to “do something” that Michael Jackson would have loved — “which is not celebrating his birthday” — then they can feel inspired to get involved with philanthropic efforts in their community and for the globe.

“There’s always ways to get involved with raising awareness for climate change, doing stuff for the environment, animal rights activism — these were things that he loved and was very interested in, and I can’t speak for him, because I’m a different person and I don’t know, but I’m sure he would have loved that…”

Additionally, Jackson included a short caption along with her video.

“full video 🙂 please don’t use a man you have never met as an excuse to abuse, manipulate, and harass his daughter (who you also have never met).
