It’s been over a year since Paula Patton called it quits with her childhood sweetheart, Robin Thicke and she’s finally speaking out about life as a single mother. The actress has been trying her hand at dating and has found a sense of empowerment and freedom as she experiences this new chapter in her life.
Patton told Essence, “It’s been fun and interesting and I’ve learned a lot about myself.” Since she began a romance with Thicke at the tender age of 15, she states that the transition through her divorce has been rather “strange” and continued by saying, “I have no idea what I’m doing, but it’s exciting, it’s so fun, I’m having a blast.” The Warcraft star feels that being single is all about “learning to love yourself, enjoying your time with your friends, your family and then it will sort itself out.” Amen to that!
Now, for the fellas out there who are wondering what type of man Miss Paula is checking for, she says that she wants someone fun. To elaborate, she explained, “You know what the biggest thing is for me? Somebody who really likes to have fun. I want a man, but I want a man that also wants to embrace his inner child. You know? Laugh. Have fun. Enjoy the moment. … I want to be happy. Life is too short.”
