Pennsylvania Governor Tim Wolf Speaks Out In A Press Conference After The Trump Campaign Files A Lawsuit To Stop The Counting Of Ballots

As the results of the 2020 presidential campaign have yet to be determined, Tom Wolf, the governor of Pennsylvania has responded to Donald Trump after he filed a lawsuit on Wednesday trying to stop the counting of ballots.

In a press conference, Governor Wolf said, “The afternoon the Trump campaign filed a lawsuit to stop the counting of ballots in Pennsylvania. That is simply wrong. It goes against the most basic principles for a democracy. it takes away the right of every American citizen to cast their vote and to choose our leaders.”

“Our elections officials at the state and local level should be free to do their jobs without fear, without intimidation, without attacks to subvert the democratic process are simply disgraceful,” he said.

Wolf continued to say that he will see forward that every vote in Pennsylvania is counted.

As we previously reported, Republicans filed a federal lawsuit accusing officials in suburban Philadelphia’s Montgomery County of illegally processing 49 mail-in ballots before Tuesday for the purpose of allowing voters to fix problems with their ballots.

Also in the lawsuit, Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania and five other plaintiffs asked to block counties from allowing voters whose mail-in ballots were disqualified to be able to cast their vote by provisional ballot.

Pennsylvania was not the only state that Trump filed a lawsuit for as Ameican’s continue to wait and see who will be the next president. He also filed in Georgia and Michigan.
