People On Twitter Credit ABC’s “Black-ish” For Teaching Them About Juneteenth!

OH-KAY, Roomies! Y’all know it is Juneteenth. While this history lesson was conveniently skipped in school, #Blackish came through and blessed us with an episode that gave a brief synopsis in 2017. Now, people on Twitter are thanking them for it.

During the episode, #AnthonyAnderson’s character—Dre Johnson—gave his colleagues a quick lesson of what occurred on June 19, 1865.

Soliciting the help of the legendary group @theroots, the scene gave us a 2 minute rundown of what was and how it became to be.

Being that this is the first time that so many have recognized #Juneteenth, it’s safe to say that @abcnetwork’s “Black-ish” cemented the cultural significance.
