Pharrell Williams is teaming up again with Illumination and Universal Pictures. This time around they will be working on a new animation for the classic Christmas film, Dr. Seuss’ “The Grinch.”
According to Deadline, Williams and Illumination have worked on the original music for all of the “Despicable Me” films, but now Williams will serve as the film’s narrator.
Tyler The Creator has composed an original song, “I Am The Grinch,” and will perform it for the film. Danny Elfman has written the film’s score, and also collaborated with Tyler on a new version of the Grinch theme song, “You’re A Mean One.”
Joining Williams will be Benedict Cumberbatch, who will voice the Grinch. Rashida Jones, Keenan Thompson, Cameron Seely, and Lansbury will also lend their voices to the films main characters, with Lansbury serving as the Mayor of Whoville.
The film is scheduled to release on November 9th.
