Just one day before the 8th anniversary of rapper, Pimp C’s death, drama seems to be growing amongst his sons Chad Jr. and Corey Butler. against his wife, Chinara Butler!
For all those who don’t know, Chinara is in the works of dropping an album this Friday, December 4th ( on the day of his death 8 years ago) remembering the late Pimp C which is entitled, “Long Live The Pimp.” After debuting the album for the media just before Thanksgiving, reviews have made one thing for sure, Pimp C was truly missed.
In a statement, Chinara seems to make it known that she was the mastermind behind the tribute, “This album is the culmination of years of work from not just me, but also the amazing artists and producers who contributed to make it happen. It combines several of the ideas and projects my husband began before his untimely passing. We hope the Trill fans enjoy it.”
Even though it may seem as though the album was done out of good faith, Pimp’s sons aren’t here for his mother’s money grabbing shenanigans! Chad Jr. took to social media to let everyone know he nor his brother, Corey, have anything to do with the new album drop:
“I want Pimp C fans to know that his family – myself and my younger brother Corey Butler – had no part in the creation of this ‘new’ Pimp C album and don’t receive any of the benefits from album sales. The only person who benefits is his wife Chinara (Butler), who doesn’t return phone calls or communicate with us at all, and possibly our sister Christian, but even that is debatable. My father was always supportive of myself and my brother, and I know he wouldn’t want us to be forgotten as a part of his legacy.” – Chad Butler Jr.
Pimp C was found dead in a West Hollywood hotel after an apparent overdose on the popular concoction “syrup” or “lean” on December 4th, 2007. Long live Pimp C and hopefully his family can come to some resolution on this. Lets chat below!
