Kim Kardashian can now add a coloring book to the latest edition of all things about her but ironically this book wasn’t one of her ideas!
Up and coming Illustrator, Christina Lee from Pittsburg, IL created a coloring highlighting the best and worst selfies produced by the selfie queen.
Known for creating silly graphics, Lee sat down with The Fader speak about her reasons for creating the book filled with what she calls “breaking the internet” selfies.
“Kim Kardashian is a fascinating celebrity because you’re not really sure why she’s famous, but you could name at least 10 different reasons why, Lee tells Fader. “She has a profitable video game, stars in a reality show, has two famous fathers, is married to Kanye, has zillions of followers on Instagram, and the list goes on. If you ask any person why she’s famous, you’re not going to get a lot of the same answers.”
As you may know, it’s hard not to see or hear about the Kardashians since they seem to be plastered everywhere and literally brand their every moves, but of course you have to honored Kim for being the first for starting such a trend. From her book, “Selfish” to her Instagram page it’s very apparent that the only person who seems to love them self more than Kanye loving himself, is Kim!
“There’s been a resurgence in coloring books for adults, and I was surprised that Kim Kardashian didn’t have one yet– US pop culture is incredibly saturated with her image, Lee says. I was inspired by flipping through a friend’s copy of Selfish, I thought it would be a fun idea if I transformed her selfies into a coloring book.”
Lee also feels this would be a great gift for North West and probably for her baby brother too (in-which Kim is expecting by Christmas)! “Nothing is more empowering than to see your own mother elevated to pop cultural status through a coloring book, Lee tells Fader. “Also, I think it would be an incredibly fun exercise for anyone to color their own mom.”
The coloring book has a front image of the infamous meltdown picture of Kim Kardashian crying hysterically, which has broke the internet along with other photos of the reality star.
“Even though she was born into fame, nearly everyone can see themselves in Kim’s shoes because her public life is full of highs and lows,” Lee says.
This will add to the collection of kids activities for baby North West and other children who support the Kardashian’s and Kanye West, as Yeezy himself came out with a children’s book called “Bound2gether,” a kid friendly spin-off to the music video “Bound 2.”
