Playboi Carti has been arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend. According to TMZ, the altercation took place after the couple had an argument regarding a paternity test.

More Details About The Alleged Altercation
In an arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, the woman, who has not been named, told police that the rapper allegedly grabbed her by her throat and pushed her. She explained that he held her neck until she barely could breathe. And even told police that she thought she was going to die.
The woman explained to officers that she’s been in a relationship with the rapper for two years. In addition, she’s lived with him since July 2022. And was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged altercation.
According to the woman, the altercation took place on December 20. She explained to the police that she wanted to speak to the rapper about the baby. And a conversation about the paternity test led to the argument, which then led to the alleged attack.
The woman told officers that a witness tried to jump in and de-escalate the situation. When this happened, she ran to her car and said the rapper allegedly attacked her again.
She went on to explain that Playboi Carti allegedly tried pulling her out of the car. And put his hand over her mouth when she tried to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call the police.
When the cops arrived on the scene, they say she had visible injuries to her “neck, chest, and back.”

Playboi Carti’s Arrest & Felony Charge
According to the outlet, Playboi Carti was charged with felony aggravated assault. He was reportedly arrested on December 29, 2022. And released the following day.
The rapper’s attorney, Brian Steel, shared a statement with TMZ.
Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.

The rapper, whose real name is Jordan Carter, has had previous run-ins with the law, as reported by Page Six. In 2020, he was arrested for a “drug and gun bust” in Georgia. Additionally, the rapper’s Lamborghini was pulled over by police around the same time. Clayton County authorities reportedly found “12 bags of marijuana, three guns, Xanax, codeine, and oxycodone,” as reported by the outlet.

The mother of Carti’s first child, Iggy Azalea, has reacted to the news of his arrest on social media. Iggy, 33, and Playboi, 26, welcomed their son in April 2020.
