The Los Angeles Lakers played their hearts out this season, Roomies, and all of their hardwork and dedication landed the franchise its first championship title in 10 years!
As the players were celebrating their W, and honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant, Plies came through with a message about where the trophy should go. Ironically, Plies deleted the tweet shortly after, probably due to the differing opinions he got from the post.
“I think it would be dope if the Los Angeles Lakers gave the NBA Championship trophy to Breonna Taylor‘s family!!!” he said.
After we posted the tweet for our Roommates, we quickly learned that a large majority of people are not only opposed to Plies’ idea, but quite confused about how the trophy relates to and would benefit Breonna’s family.
“Mmm no. We can give it to Vanessa and them kids but Breonna family don’t need the trophy,” one comment reads.
“What they gon’ do with it? It’ll be great if people will stop mentioning her name if it has NOTHING to do with getting her justice..” another Roommate says.
“I’m not sure exactly what that would do,” another comments reads. “Maybe a scholarship foundation in her name would be cool though.”
What do y’all think, Roomies? Would the NBA trophy be a good gift to Breonna Taylor’s family, or is Plies doing too much?
