A man, 20, was sentenced to four years and two months in juvenile detention in the killing of Pop Smoke. The judge has withheld the man’s name from public use because he was a minor during the 2020 invasion.
According to AP News, the man was 17 when he and three others were involved in the Hollywood Hills mansion. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and robbery on Thursday (April 6) in Inglewood.

The 20-year-old wasn’t the only minor involved in Pop Smoke’s death. Smoke, legal name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was staying at a rented home on February 19 when a 15-year-old attacker pistol-whipped and shot the rapper three times in the back. This teenager’s name is also barred from public use.
At the time, Pop Smoke was in the shower. Per a detective’s testimony, the men stole a diamond-studded Rolex and later sold it for $2,000. They were able to locate the New York rapper cause of a picture Pop Smoke shared on social media that showed the address on a label.
Prosecutors also charged Corey Walker and Keandre Rogers. Walker was reportedly 19 at the time of the home invasion, while Rogers was 18.
No additional details at this time about the other men charged.
