It’s been just over a week since the tragic killing of Brooklyn’s very own, Pop Smoke, and up until now, his family has not had too much to say to the public. As fans mourn the loss of the up and coming rapper, his family is asking for thoughts, prayers, and consideration.

“Brooklyn knew his as Bashar. He was educated and nurtured in Brooklyn and his ride to fame all developed from the place he proudly represented. Within the last year, his extraordinary gifts were revealed to the world; introducing Pop Smoke.”
“Unfortunately, there are no public details available regarding the murder of our loved one. We ask for respect and responsible reporting during this critical time. Thank you for respecting our family and the legacy of Bashar during this time.”
As we previously reported, Pop Smoke was gunned down in what was believed to be a home invasion gone wrong in his home in Hollywood Hills. And after further investigation, it seems as thought his murder was a targeted hit and not a robbery gone wrong.
While authorities have not yet released any information regarding Pop’s killers, surveillance footage from the scene allegedly shows four men approaching Pop’s home at around 4:30 am, sneaking around the back. It appears as though they may have gone into his home, shot him, and then walking through the front door.
