Legendary heavy metal musician Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76.
According to the New York Post, Ozzy Osbourne’s family released a statement to the New York Post on Tuesday, July 22. Furthermore, the statement asserted that Ozzy has passed away “surrounded by love.”
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis,” the statement reads.
Per the outlet, Ozzy’s passing arrives almost six years after he revealed his diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease to the world in January 2020. However, Fox News notes that Ozzy learned of his diagnosis in 2003. Furthermore, he is reportedly survived by his wife, Sharon, and aforementioned children.

According to Newsweek, Ozzy Osbourne rose to fame as a member of the heavy metal Black Sabbath group. Eventually, he was nicknamed “The Prince of Darkness,” and went on to launch his own solo career in 1979. Eventually, Ozzy and his family grew to be household staples with their MTV hit show, ‘The Osbournes.’ Per the outlet, Ozzy was awarded five Grammy awards over the course of his career and inducted into both the UK Music Hall of Fame and the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Per the outlet, Ozzy’s passing arrives just weeks after his farewell concert alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates went down on July 5 in Birmingham, England.
