Prince’s Siblings Allege That They Haven’t Received Payment From His Estate

Almost four years after Prince’s death and his siblings allege that they have yet to be paid a dime from his estate.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, his siblings, Sharon, Norrine, and John Nelson have filed a petition seeking compensation from the estate.

In 2016, the singer left his assets to all six of his siblings but didn’t have a will in place. His estate,  run by Comerica Bank, has not been able to see eye-to-eye with the relatives.

There have been numerous accusations that Comerica has mismanaged the money and lacked communication about potential deals. But Comerica says this is not the case and insists they are doing their best given the circumstances.

The siblings are asking the court to approve “payment for services and efforts provided to the Estate.” They allege they’ve provided “considerable and investment in business matters related to the Estate. Unlike others, who have performed services for the Prince Estate, SNJ has not received any financial sums for numerous and repeated services they have contributed to the Estate.”

Because they’ve spent so much time working on the Estate, the heirs allege they have financial instability, and have to “solely on their pension, social security, personal savings, and loans from friends to cover costs needed to support the Prince Estate despite the millions paid to advisors, attorneys, and others approved by the court.”

Lastly, the three claim every time they’ve asked to be paid, they have always been rejected. They have corporate experience and do not mind working on the Prince Estate, but they would like to be paid for doing so.

The late singer’s Estate has been a topic for years. It’s also reported that they owe millions to lawyers because of unpaid fees.  His sister Tyka Nelson sold off her share, due to the financial woes.
