Protestors rallied outside of a #Brooklyn nail salon today, forcing them to close following a brawl between the salon’s Asian employees and a few black customers. #NYPD cops stood by #888HappyRedAppleNails on #NostrandAvenue while members of the black community protested to shut the salon down, promising that no more black dollars will go to that nail salon.
Reports from the scene indicated that one of the women beaten by the employees is a grandmother. The fight allegedly began when the customers refused to pay for a bad eyebrow wax job, according to the @NewYorkPost. On video, the employees can be seen wacking the customers with broomsticks, even as one struggled to get to the door to leave.
Only one of the employees was arrested and police also arrested one of the customers involved. #BrooklynBoroughPresidentEricAdams issued a statement on the video, calling it “deeply disturbing and unacceptable.”
