R. Kelly’s Crisis Manager Says He Personally Would Not Leave His Daughter Alone With The Singer

Roommates, the accusations being made against R. Kelly have surely caught up to him. While he is sitting behind bars, his team is working overtime to maintain his innocence. Kelly’s crisis manager, #DarrellJohnson, says he’s innocent if the evidence doesn’t convict him, but Darrell’s stance isn’t too convincing after a recent interview.
In an interview on CBS This Morning, Darrell speaks about everything from R. Kelly’s expenses to his past accusations. Darrell says he sees Kells as any normal person leading a normal life, but when asked about his own daughter, his tune changed. Gayle King explicitly asks Darrell if he would leave his 20-year-old daughter with R. Kelly, and Darrell says absolutely not.
“I wouldn’t leave my daughter with anybody that’s accused of being a pedophile,” Darrell says. “I’m going to say it again, I wouldn’t leave my daughter with anyone who is accused of pedophilia.”
Darrell’s position to the question is a great contradiction to everything else he says in the interview. He tells Gayle that R. Kelly is an innocent man, despite the accusations.
Darrell does, however, mention R. Kelly is afraid of being convicted, and is in a “bad mental state”.
“I am concerned about Mr. Kelly,” he says. “He’s a mess and I would assume he’s under suicide watch at this point. It’s almost as if a jury has convicted him.”
He adds that his concern for R. Kelly goes beyond his emotional state, but he fears he could harm himself while in jail.
“When you’re in the state of mind that Mr. Kelly is in right now, any person would want the authorities to be cautious of the situation,” he says. “I am absolutely concerned he might harm himself.”
As we previously reported, R. Kelly was arrested almost two weeks ago on sex trafficking charges. Since then, there have been reports of authorities having possession of 20 sex tapes allegedly involving R. Kelly and underaged girls.
R. Kelly is set to appear before in federal court in Brooklyn next month.
