Ray J, 35 and Princess Love, 31 are on the next step in their relationship—marriage. But before they decide to make the biggest commitment of their lives, they sit down with Steve Harvey to discuss the up’s and down’s of their relationship that still needs a lot of mending!
“Before I came to talk to you, I had to be ready. And now that I’m ready, it’s 2016, I’m engaged, you know, I just wanted to come talk to you and let you know the positive path I’m on,” Ray J said.”But also just to get some advice from you on how to maintain this focus and maintain this positive energy.”
After four years of staying true to one another, Love reveals that her biggest downfall in their relationship was when Ray J didn’t stand up for her once she went to jail on Valentine’s Day back in 2015! “I just feel like as a man you’re supposed to protect your woman, and I just felt he just didn’t do that,” Love said.
It was the same night when Love was arrested for beating and throwing objects at Ray J once Love had trouble locating her man in their hotel they stayed at in New Orleans. He evidently ended up getting a second room in the same hotel to stay the night with TV producers as they went to strip club on the same night, leaving Love alone without even a way to reach him!
“We had an incident in New Orleans and the police got involved,” said Ray J. “We got into this argument and it got loud and you know glasses were being thrown in the the room, and then all of sudden the police show up and—somebody got to go! It was very unfortunate that they took her…but it all started with me telling her I’m about to bring you some soul-food home, and I get caught up at the strip club.”
Ray J told Harvey that he realized she was the one after all of his cheating and just wants to do right for the sake of their marriage soon to come. Ray has extensive track record of cheating on Love and he sees that his fiancee considers him as her “soulmate” and she is the one for him to change his infamous ways!
