Restaurant Owner Pops Up At Customer’s House At Night Over 3-Star Yelp Review

Restaurant Owner Pops Up At Customer’s House At Night Over 3-Star Yelp Review

#Roommates, y’all better be careful when you leave a negative review on Yelp about these restaurants out here!

Unfortunately, one woman learned that the hard way after a manager popped up on at her house over her negative review!

According to Mashable, Yesha Callahan wasn’t feeling her little meal she got from La Porchetta, a restaurant in Sterling, Virginia. Sis ordered a simple burger, fries and zeppoles for delivery to her apartment.

“The delivery guy was quite friendly and asked if I could leave a review on Yelp,” she said, “I said sure, and he went on his merry way.”

When Yesha opened her box she was pissed and found “sorry-looking steak fries” and a bare burger without any lettuce or tomatoes.

She ended up leaving a 3-star review on Yelp, which wasn’t that bad seeing as though it could’ve been a one. Sis gave the restaurant a few suggestions in her review and even said “maybe next time I’ll try the pizza.”

Little did sis know the manager was en route to her apartment to give her a piece of his mind! Around 10 p.m., she heard someone knocking on her door and her phone started ringing, but she didn’t recognize the number.

The person, who we now know is the manager, left this voicemail. “Hello, this is [inaudible name], the manager of La Porchetta. I am outside your door. I want to speak to you about your Yelp review.”

“I still did not leave my room. I did not want to get ax murdered,” Callahan wrote.

She ended up calling the cops and they were just as taken back as she was. If that already wasn’t enough chaos, sis went back and changed her review from 3 stars to 1star!

“I originally gave this place a 3 start review. But now it’s being reduced to 1 star because the manager showed up at my house on a Sunday night at 10 pm., because he obviously wasn’t pleased with the review & wanted to talk. Not only that, he repeatedly called my phone, to let me know he was standing outside my door. WTF! I do not answer my door late at night for anyone. How dare you show up at my house! What kind of business are you running. And yes, the police have been notified. I also wouldn’t be surprised if all of these positive reviews were done by friends, associates since it seems as though many of the reviews were done by people with 1 or 2 reviews on their profiles. Next time, don’t ask for a review, if you don’t want the truth.”

The restaurant apologized for the managers action, saying, “It is clearly misjudgment from our manager to go to your house at 10pm.”

The restaurant says it was just a misunderstanding. They claim that GrubHub’s description of their burger wasn’t correct, and claimed that the manager showed up to Sis’ house to give her the right burger, but clearly the knocks and calls weren’t well received at that time of night.

Yelp apologized for the restaurant’s actions and said that their delivery partner would be cutting ties with the restaurant for “violation of their terms service.”
