Russell Wilson Named The Co-Owner And Chairman Of NFL FLAG

Congrats are in order to Russell Wilson, he has been named the co-owner and chairman of NFL FLAG, which is a youth flag football league sponsored by the NFL.

The NFL appointed the new role to Russell, with hopes that they will be able to strengthen the league, as well as expand domestically and internationally. He will work alongside, Reigning Champs Experiences (RCX) President Izell Reese, who also played in the NFL.

According to Seahawks Wire, Russell expressed his excitement about the new venture and said, “We want to create opportunities for kids around the world to experience and learn the sport of football. Our hope is to grow the popularity of the sport on a global level.”

Russell also expressed his excitement on social media and said, I’m excited to announce my partnership with NFL FLAG and excited to take this sport global for boys and girls around the world!”

Russell’s duties as the new co-owner and chairman will first kick in at the NFL FLAG Summit during NFL Draft in Nevada. There he will speak about the goals of expansion.

As we previously reported, Russell and his wife Ciara announced last August that they were a part of the Seattle Sounders FC Ownership Group.

The couple also announced earlier this week that they are expecting baby No. 3.
