Rylynn Joshua Davis, an Indiana man, allegedly dragged his screaming girlfriend down a sidewalk and shot her and two men after they reportedly intervened.
According to Law and Crime, officers with the Muncie Police Department responded to reports of multiple people being shot around 5:30 p.m. on May 10. The shooting reportedly occurred near the 2700 block of South Walnut Street.
Per the outlet, the officers immediately detained Rylynn Joshua Davis. Once in custody, he reportedly shared that he didn’t mean to harm his girlfriend, 23-year-old Cheyenne Angelina Raines. But he was allegedly defending himself.
Furthermore, court documents revealed that Raines had attempted to leave Davis two days prior to the shooting, which initiated “a violent sequence of domestic abuse.” On May 10, as Raines allegedly attempted to leave and was walking down the street from their home, Davis allegedly pursued her. Additionally, he allegedly grabbed her by the feet and began dragging her back to his home as she screamed for help.
Per the outlet, two men driving by witnessed Davis assaulting Raines.
“At first, I thought it was just two kids messing around. Then, I looked closer and realized it was a guy dragging a girl down the road by her ankles,” Michael Hennessey reportedly stated while recalling him and another man intervening.
At that point, Davis opened fire, and Hennessey was struck. Furthermore, he saw the other man and Cheyenne Angelina Raines lying on the ground. Per the outlet, the unidentified man was shot in the head and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Raines reportedly passed away with “numerous gunshot wounds to her face, chest, abdomen, and back.” Per Law and Crime, Davis was “indicted on 10 criminal counts, including murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, kidnapping, and criminal confinement.” He is reportedly being held without bond.
In addition to the fatal incident in Indiana, tragedy also recently made headlines in Wisconsin. As The Shade Room previously reported, in February, officers responded to reports of a pulseless, non-breathing child at an apartment. Ultimately, the child was pronounced dead. And it was discovered that a mother allegedly gave her baby whiskey. This, reportedly to put the child to sleep.
