Miley Cyrus received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday. The singer and actress celebrated the honor alongside loved ones, close friends, and supporters who cheered her on.
On Friday, May 22, Miley Cyrus received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with loved ones by her side. The singer posed for photos with her mom, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, and sister, Brandi Cyrus. She also shared cozy moments in front of the star with boyfriend Maxx Morando.
Friends, including actress Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace,appeared as guest speakers during the ceremony.
During her speech, Cyrus reflected on the significance of receiving the honor:
What feels so special to me about this star is that its an accumulation of devotion, she said. The star isnt something that you win like a seasonal game. Its not something that you can chase or collect. Its not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy. My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo.
Cyrus became the 2,845th celebrity to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honor also arrived shortly after the pop icon celebrated the 20th anniversary of ‘Hannah Montana,’ the hit Disney Channel series that helped launch her career.
Social media users quickly flooded the comments with reactions following the ceremony.
Although Mileys father, Billy Ray Cyrus, did not attend the ceremony, he previously shared a heartfelt message on social media congratulating his daughter.
Alongside a throwback photo of himself riding a motorcycle with a young Miley on the back, he wrote:
Its a long way from Tennessee to Hollywood @mileycyrus! And you did it girl! Congratulations on your well deserved Star on the @hwdwalkoffame! Remember those nights you spoke about when Id sneak ya out of our hotel and we would go lurk on those dirty sidewalks!!!! And you would point out all the chewing gum because you knew it made me sick!!!! So proud of you Love ya.
