On Wednesday, July 2, the jury reached a verdict in the federal criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. His mother, Janice Combs, and all of his adult children — Christian, Justin, Jessie, D’Lila, Chance, and Quincy Brown were all in attendance. The jury decided on all counts at approximately 9:52 a.m. local time.

Diddy’s Trial Verdict Prompts Reactions Across Social Media

After deliberating, the jury found Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs guilty of two counts under the charge: transportation to engage in prostitution. The music mogul was later cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, delivering a mixed verdict.

As soon as the jury revealed the decision, the internet lit up with reactions. People quickly weighed in on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), and of course, The Shade Room’s comment section was filled with opinions. Keep scrolling to see what folks had to say.

Social Media Reacts To Verdict

In The Shade Room’s Instagram comment section, folks shared mixed reactions to Diddy’s verdict. Some said they weren’t shocked by the court’s decision, while others claimed the trial felt like a humiliation ritual. Check out more reactions below.

Instagram user @its.lladykidd wrote, “I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING 💀”

Instagram user @foreverdolex wrote, “Let me unfollow the ppl clapping 😭”

While Instagram user @norystonmit wrote, “I knew they didn’t prove Rico, which is where a good majority of the prison time would’ve come into play. Prosecution fumbled. Bad.”

Then Instagram user @leyafalcon wrote, “If you have money you can get away with anything 🙄”

Another Instagram user @specialk4me wrote, “Not surprised. 😮 And for those celebrating-pray this type of injustice never finds its way to ya. Nothing to be celebrating.”

Instagram user @mua_shynidion wrote, “This was just a humiliation ritual.”

While another Instagram user @a_queens_story wrote, “His public reputation is forever damaged.”

Then another Instagram user @bougiemillionheir wrote, “That’s because they couldn’t prove Rico beyond a reasonable doubt. They did a horrible job and I agree he is not guilty of a rico. Other stuff yes but a Rico no.”

Instagram user @sadgurlll__ wrote, “Are we going to sit here and act surprised they presented us with a DOMESTIC VIOLENCE case.”

Finally, Instagram user @melissaduranxo wrote, “The United States is a joke… but we all knew he wouldn’t be found guilty like that fr smh.”

X Users Weigh In

Meanwhile, over on X (formerly Twitter), folks shared strong opinions, with many standing firm in their belief that Diddy’s trial verdict didn’t serve justice. Pop singer Kesha joined the flood of voices and appeared to weigh in on the outcome by writing a message to Cassie that said, “Cassie, I believe you. I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor.” Keep scrolling to see more thoughts below.

I’m so sorry to all the victims of Diddy, you deserved justice. This is so horrible.

This diddy verdict.. pic.twitter.com/9UM6mz5V9I

— Free Gaza 🇵🇸 (@Swaydaca) July 2, 2025

That Diddy verdict don’t even make sense lol how you not guilty of sex trafficking but guilty of prostitution transportation??

— 🥷🏽 (@Fxtchris_) July 2, 2025

This Diddy trial is proof that you can do anything if you got money

— The Hood Therapist (@OhhMar24) July 2, 2025

So so disappointing on the Diddy charges. The evidence was there. And that’s why Cassie went civil because why should she have to go through all that for not guilty? Juries need to be taught about domestic and sexual abuse before they can hand out verdicts; I’ve been saying!

— Shanika W-M (@Shanika_WM) July 2, 2025

I don't know why anyone is surprised that Diddy basically got off when we have an adjudicated rapist sitting in the White House. Men with wealth and power who abuse women are celebrated in this country.

— Sarah Ironside 💙 (@SarahIronside6) July 2, 2025

Diddy walking basically tells you that none of these high profile pedophiles will ever face any justice. What a surprise..

— The Architect. (@TheMarcitect) July 1, 2025

Either way it goes, Diddy’s reputation is forever damaged. If they do let him go, he needs to just disappear from the public eye. But let’s see which celebs, outside of the usual suspects, who are going to come out in support of him after all this.

— Big Mama, your ARM! (@AshleyShyMiller) July 2, 2025

i feel sick to my stomach how is diddy beating all these charges. that jury is so damn useless

— cay (@koralinadean) July 2, 2025

The Diddy jury verdict shocked me. I wasn’t expecting anything other than guilty on all charges.
