Selena Gomez Reveals She Was Emotionally Abused While With Justin Bieber

Although it’s been a few years since they ended things for good, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s past relationship is still a hot topic of conversation. While promoting her new album, Selena opened up about their relationship—and shocked fans when she revealed she was emotionally abused while they were together.

As Selena Gomez continues to promotes her number one single, “Lose You To Love Me” and her new album “Rare,” she is making press rounds and detailing the inspiration for the album. As many fans already suspected, a large part of the project is about her previous relationship with Justin Bieber, who she initially began dating back in 2010 and their on/off relationship lasted until 2018. @ENews, reports that during Selena’s recent in-depth interview with NPR, she revealed that she suffered emotional abuse from Justin that she’s still healing from.

When asked about painful aspects of her past relationship, Selena stated, “It’s dangerous to stay in a victim mentality. And I’m not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse.”

When asked to clarify if she’s speaking about emotional abuse, Selena said this:

“Yes, and I think that it’s something that — I had to find a way to understand it as an adult. And I had to understand the choices I was making. As much as I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible.”

As you know, Justin Bieber is now married to Hailey Baldwin and Selena has finally made her return to music after a hiatus that had her fans begging for new music.
