Senator Ted Cruz Faces Backlash After Photos Reportedly Show Him Traveling While Texas Residents Continue To Face Winter Storm

By now we all know that the state of Texas has been facing a gruesome winter storm which has left many people without electricity and clean water for days. However, someone has reportedly spotted Ted Cruz, who is the junior United States Senator of Texas, at the airport in Houston while on his way to Mexico.

According to the Associated Press, Cruz went with his family on a “long-planned trip to Cancun.” However, a source with knowledge about the situation has let the outlet know that he is expected to return immediately.

Many people have been sharing their opinions about the images that seemingly show Ted Cruz boarding a flight at the airport. The Daily Show commented on the situation and said, “One Texas resident had to travel over 1700 miles to find heat, water, and electricity.”

CNN reports that a person familiar with the travel itinerary confirmed that it was Cruz spotted in the photos and that he is booked for a flight from Cancun to Houston on Thursday afternoon.

Nonetheless, that has not stopped people from calling him out about the situation. Shaun King shared the photos and said, “As Texas struggles, millions without power, with water, without gas or heat, Republican Senator Ted Cruz FLEW TO CANCUN! Dozens of people have already died. People are starving and freezing and this man took a damn vacation to Cancun.”
