The TV host had plenty of SPICY opinions about unmarried couples choosing to live together, and stood ten toes down on why she would NEVER! What Sheryl Underwood Said About Unmarried Couples
Underwood and Sharpe chopped it up for over two hours on ‘Club Shay Shay.’ A lil’ bit of everything was on the agenda, from their long-ago first date to her comedy journey and her stance on relationships from the lens of her Southern upbringing.
For context, Sheryl Underwood got married in the late 1980s. But in 1990, just three years into their marriage, her husband died by suicide. In 2020, she talked about the pain of never knowing the exact cause of anyone’s self-harm. Underwood has not remarried, and it’s unclear if she’s currently dating. However, the 61-year-old told Shannon — after he asked — that she still believes in marriage. So much so that she’d never shack up with a man without that legal paperwork and wedding band to match! And if a man has kids, the chance of shacking up is definitely out the window. “I’m not gon’ show your daughters to be wh*res, I’m not gon do it,” Underwood said.
“Can’t no man worth his manhood and his backbone put a key in anything I own and walk in like he run it or he own it, you’re not a man. That’s not how this goes. I want you to live in your own separate house and I live in my own separate house until you make a decision that I’m worthy to be your wife,” Sheryl Underwood said.
Shannon Sharpe followed up by asking if ‘The View’ host has ever had a key to a man’s home. “Hell no, that’s your sh*t,” Sheryl Underwood responded.
“I want to be able to trust you, and you trust me. You can’t have no key to my sh*t, though,” Underwood added. “But no, I can’t shack with no man.”
