According to Newsweek, during the late hours of Thursday, February 5, a post was shared on Donald Trump’s Truth Social account which featured a 62-second video about voting machines allegedly stealing the 2020 election. Per the outlet, toward the end of the video, a jaw-dropping clip appeared of the “Obamas’ faces” on the bodies of apes “for about 1 second. This, reportedly as the song ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ by the Tokens played.
Per the outlet, the clip appears to have originated from the “Patriot News Outlet.”

Social media users entered TSR’s comment section, goin’ OFF about the clip showing the Obamas as apes.

White House Speaks Out After Post On Donald Trump Truth Social Account Shows Obamas — Michelle & Barack — Depicted As Apes
According to CNN, on Friday, February 6, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt initially released a statement in response to the public outrage.
“This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from ‘The Lion King.’ Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public,” she stated.
Then, later on Friday, the White House issued an updated statement to NBC News.
“A White House staffer erroneously made the post. It has been taken down.”
At this time, Michelle and Barack Obama have not publicly reacted to the video posted on Donald Trump’s Truth Social account. Additionally, it appears the post has been deleted as of Friday afternoon.
