In a clip posted to Instagram user @livebitez’s account, Marissa Da’Nae explained that her son, Chozen, has never called “Bryson,” which is NLE Choppa’s first name, “dad,” and she seemed to imply that he does not believe NLE is his father. Instead, she said Chozen views her ex, rapper EKT 40, as his father.

The clip sparked widespread reaction online, prompting Chozen’s mother to take to her Instagram Stories to clarify and double down on her stance. She clarified EKT 40 is the only father figure her son knows, citing the time they have spent together, while also accusing NLE Choppa of failing to show up as a parent. Marissa further claimed NLE Choppa has shown favoritism toward his other children and has only seen their son three times in 2025.
