Social Media Reacts To Lil’ Wayne Expressing Gratitude For Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s national holiday, Lil’ Wayne acknowledged the revolutionary and said he was grateful.

He took to Twitter and tweeted,“Because he had a dream I am able to live out my dreams. I am forever mindful. Forever grateful. Because he had a dream I’ll never stop dreaming and dreams are forever. King. Forever.”

A couple of Twitter followers were a bit surprised ‘cause of past statements Wayne has made and most recently, his photo op with Donald Trump, before the 2020 election took place.

One person wrote, “I thought you said there’s no such thing as racism.” Another wrote, “Should’ve kept that in mind before endorsing Trump.”

If you recall, in 2016 Wayne stated that he had never experienced racism.

During an interview with Undisputed, co-host Skip Bayless explained why “a lot of white kids love rap,” Wayne said racism didn’t exist.

He also stated,”I don’t want to be bashed … but I think it’s a message that there’s clearly no such thing as racism,” Wayne said.

Wayne continued, saying his “blessings” and experiences as an entertainer allowed him to form an opinion on race relations. “I’ve never dealt with racism,” Wayne said. “And I’m glad I’ve never had to. … I believe it’s over. But obviously, it isn’t.”

When asked if he had ever experienced anything “offensive” based on the color of his skin, Wayne replied, “No, sir.”

If you recall, with less than 12 hours left as president, Donald Trump used his presidential power to issue pardons and commutations for 143 people including Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.

Welp.
