Earlier this week, Mena took to her Instagram Story to share a few slides of now-deleted messages. In the posts, the mother of three opened up about wondering how to keep “peace while fighting battles we never asked for.” Furthermore, she explained that when one parent “refuses to do their part,” the other doesn’t get “the luxury of giving up.”
She went on to add that the bills, the emotions, and the responsibilities fall on the present parent, as well as sleepless nights when they’re trying to figure things out.
“They don’t see the lawyer fees eating the same money meant for your children. They don’t see how hard it is to stay calm when the other parent lives carefree, lying about their reality when you’re just trying to survive truthfully,” she wrote.
As the message went on, Mena seemingly went on to accuse Safaree of lying about his financial situation “just to avoid doing what’s right” for their kids.
“It’s unfair, but strength is built in storms like this and I know mine speaks for itself,” she concluded.

Here’s What Apparently Sparked Erica Mena’s Ongoing Battle Against Safaree In Family Court
As The Shade Room previously reported, in September 2022, Erica Mena and Safaree’s divorce was finalized amid the pair having welcomed two kids, Safire and Legend. At the time, it was reported that Safaree was ordered to pay Mena $4,305 in child support while they shared joint custody.
In the years that followed, Mena called Safaree out for gifting Amara Le Negra’s children Rolexes, calling his breakup with Nicki Minaj the biggest struggle he’s had to overcome. And for even popping out at Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday’ concert, living his best life.
In October 2024, Safaree reportedly requested to lower child support payments to Mena, per The Shade Room. At the time, he reportedly alleged he was no longer a full-time ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ cast member. Therefore, his income was lower than it had been previously.
Later that month, things came to a head between the pair when Safaree released security footage of various altercations with Mena, per The Shade Room. Ultimately, Mena appeared to fire back. That same month, she released footage of their daughter accusing Safaree of mistreating their son. Most recently, Mena continued her “deadbeat” claims against Safaree after he popped out at “Breezy Bowl.”
