Sorority Adviser And Six Men At Fort Valley State University Indicted In Pimping Scandal

#Roommates, a scandal that has rocked the #FortValleyStateUniversity community in #FortValley, Georgia, has now prompted law enforcement officials to charge seven people, including two former college administrators, who were allegedly involved in the sex trafficking of sorority pledges.

The list of suspected clients includes a mortician who works part-time as a county commissioner, a city manager, an assistant principal and a former university attorney, according to @thegrio.

#AleciaJeanettaJohnson, the graduate advisor to the #AlphaKappaAlpha sorority chapter on campus and the former executive assistant to #FVSU’s president, is accused of being the leader of the prostitution ring from incidents in 2017 and this year. She allegedly set up sex dates for the six men that have been charged with various sex crimes, including pandering and solicitation of sodomy, according to the report.

Macon Judicial Circuit District Attorney David Cooke issued warrants last Tuesday for the following suspects:

  1. Ernest Harvey, 47, of Fort Valley, an assistant principal in charge of discipline at Huntington Middle School in Houston County.
  2. Kenneth Howard, 56, of Fort Valley, the city manager of Hinesville.
  3. Ryan Jenkins, 35, of Fort Valley.
  4. Charles Jones, 57, of Fort Valley, a former attorney for Fort Valley State.
  5. Devontae Little, 26, of Warner Robins.
  6. Arthur James Nance Jr. ,46, of Cordele, the vice chairman of the Crisp County Board of Commissioners and a local pastor and mortician.

Johnson is facing six counts of pimping and six counts of prostitution as well as conspiracy to commit fiduciary theft stemming from a 2015 scholarship scandal.

Fort Valley State released a statement Friday afternoon saying that university officials immediately investigated the allegations of illegal conduct when they surfaced back in April.

“We have consistently and aggressively worked with the University System of Georgia and law enforcement to ensure that anyone who allegedly puts our students at risk is investigated thoroughly and expeditiously, and have advocated for the most appropriate standards to be applied. While we cannot comment on the details of an ongoing investigation, we expect anyone who has compromised the trust of our students to be held accountable with all deliberate speed.”

In a letter to the Fort Valley State sorority chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. made known its own inquiry into “unauthorized activities and misconduct involving current and former members.”
