Soulja Boy sent Plies a strong message in response to his ongoing copyright infringement lawsuit. As previously reported, Plies is suing Soulja, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion and a few labels, including Universal, over his ‘Me & My Goons’ beat.
Soulja Boy Sounds Off On Plies In Video Message
Soulja didn’t hold back while calling out Plies for suing him. Dressed in his usual jersey, white tee, baseball cap look — this time in baby blue and white — Soulja told Plies to sit his “broke a** down.”
“What the f**k wrong with your cheap a** n****? ‘Pretty Boy Swag’ is not your b**t,” the rapper yelled into the camera. “So you wanna wait ten years to try to sue a n***a to try to sue a n***a for a beat. That is not your beat crazy man. What the f**k is wrong with your Plies? You need to change your name to lies cause you a motherf**king liar. You know that ain’t your motherf**king beat.”
Soulja Boy didn’t stop there! He added that Plies should’ve admitted he was broke and asked for a loan, and then dissed the rapper’s looks. “Your motherf**king hairline in the middle of your head,” Soulja Boy said.
“That beat is all original music. You only can sue somebody if they sample your song and didn’t get it cleared. That is not a sample,” he said.
By the way, the lawsuit news has been out since the beginning of October. Shortly after the report spread, Glo posted a cryptic tweet about common sense being “needed.” Meg has yet to respond online, but her longtime producer, Max Julien, shared a few words.
Despite having an active online persona, Plies has not publicly addressed his lawsuit. However, his lawyer clapped back at the producer and clarified that the lawsuit was not personal. Instead, the attorney says the time clock on a good faith agreement with Soulja Boy to use the beat in ‘Pretty Boy Swag’ has expired. Additionally, Megan and GloRilla are named for allegedly sampling the beat in ‘Wanna Be.’
“This is a lawsuit where the first name up who has the actually pockets here is Universal Music Group. My communication is directed to the record labels, the people who actually own the music. The artists are wonderful artists, this isn’t an attack on any of the artists,” Plies’ attorney Walter Mosley told TMZ.
