Steve Harvey Shares His Praise For Marjorie

The Harveys were in attendance at the second annual Grio Awards, taped in Beverly Hills, California, on October 21, 2023. The award ceremony aired on the CBS network on Saturday, November 25.

Steve Harvey was honored with The Grio’s 2023 TV Icon Award during the ceremony. The outlet credits the 66-year-old for his 40-year career in entertainment and work, which spans the lanes of authorship, entrepreneurialism, and philanthropy.

However, Harvey’s acceptance speech did not focus on himself and his accomplishments. Instead, he largely praised his wife, Marjorie.

“That woman right there been down with me like four flat tires,” Harvey began, referring to his wife. “That woman right there has been faithful to me, loyal to me — 85% of what y’all up here talking to me about happened after I married that girl right there…”

Harvey explained that he and his wife are “18 years strong.” Additionally, he shared that he “doesn’t know” what the public is “trying to do” to their union. However, they “are covered though.”

The host then likened his and Marjorie’s union to various Bible verses.

“We Isiah 54:17 — ‘No weapon formed against me shall prosper,’ We Isiah 43:1 and 2 — ‘We can go through the rivers and the fire and not be overcome,’ Harvey explained to the crowd.

After he ended his Speech, Harvey gave his award to his wife, explaining that he loves her and appreciates her riding with him.

The Recent Cheating Allegations & Steve Harvey’s Defense Of His Wife

As The Shade Room previously reported, social media rumors surfaced against Marjorie in August. At the time, the mother of three was accused of stepping out on her husband with a personal chef and bodyguard, per Complex.

At the time, Harvey informed the public that his marriage was “fine.”

Then, in September, Harvey cleared the air regarding misconceptions about his wife’s character. Additionally, Harvey explained that Marjorie did not interfere in his prior marriage to Mary Lee Harvey, which ended in 2005.

Marjorie and Steve reportedly wed in 2007.

“The woman I married is a good woman,” Harvey firmly said. “She’s God-fearing, she’s loyal, she’s faithful, and she’s a kind and loving person… And y’all quit talking about she was in my other marriage, and she ruined it. She didn’t. She was nowhere around that…”

Harvey ultimately explained how Marjorie stuck by his side as he rebuilt himself financially following his divorce and even continued to stay by his side when he found out that he owed the IRS $22 million.

Harvey explained that Marjorie contributed to his success, and nothing can “destroy” their union.
