Steve Wilkos is sharing his thoughts on the recently released Lifetime documentary about fellow TV broadcaster Wendy Williams. As The Shade Room previously reported, the two-part documentary is called ‘Where Is Wendy Williams.’

Here’s What Steve Wilkos Said About The Wendy Williams Documentary
On Sunday, February 25, Wilkos took to TikTok to share a video that featured an on-screen caption that read, “Heartbroken for Wendy Williams.” In the clip, Wilkos brought down his thoughts on the revealing documentary.
“First off, let me say I’m a huge Wendy Williams fan. I love Wendy Williams — I was on her show numerous times [and] Wendy treated me great… so I’m all in Wendy Williams’ corner,” he explained. “But what I watched last night on that show disturbs me because I don’t think it does any good for Wendy. It doesn’t make her look good. She obviously has big-time struggles, medical conditions, and addiction. And what they’re showing is somebody is not protecting her.”
While continuing, Wilkos explained that he doesn’t see how the documentary “serves any purpose at all.”

Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to weigh in on Steve Wilkos’ sentiments. Many overwhelmingly agreed with his viewpoint.
While Instagram user @sharismyth added, “...It’s heartbreaking because it doesn’t seem normal and like her ‘team’ is trying to make money and keep getting paid when she needs to be getting some help, she seems very out of it and medicated and maybe even on the wrong meds. It’s sad watching people’s health decline but we shouldn’t broadcast it for the world to see either.”
Recently Released Footage Shows Wendy Williams Weeks Before Filming
As The Shade Room previously reported, Williams’ care team revealed last week that the 59-year-old has been diagnosed with aphasia and dementia.
“The decision to share this news was difficult and made after careful consideration, not only to advocate for understanding and compassion for Wendy, but to raise awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and support the thousands of others facing similar circumstances,” the team wrote in a press release publicly shared on Thursday, February 22.
Amid the revelation, it was also revealed that Lifetime would premiere ‘Where Is Wendy Williams’ on Saturday, February 24. At the time, a pre-released clip gave insight into Williams’ current condition.
The footage showed a stark contrast of the figure many remember gracing their TV screens every morning.
As The Shade Room previously reported, a conservator for Williams filed a lawsuit against Lifetime and A&E networks on February 22. The suit reportedly attempted to halt the premiere of ‘Where Is Wendy Williams.’ However, it appeared to have no luck in court, per New York Daily News.
