Now we’ve known T.I. to get his hands inside of a few things outside of music, one of those things being acting. He played some of our favorite roles throughout the years, but this time he may have landed one of the biggest roles in his acting career thus far.
It has been announced that he has been added to the cast of A&E’s remake of the classic film Roots. According to reports T.I. has been casted to play the role of Cyrus, a headstrong slave who fights for his freedom for the Union Army against Confederate forces. He will appear in the last part of the four part installments of the revival miniseries.
Other familiar names that are also a part of the cast include, Mekhi Phifer, Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne, Anika Noni Rose, Derek Luke and many others. The four night, eight-hour miniseries will air in 2016 across multiple A+E networks, including History and Lifetime.
