Listen, folks are out here getting creative about how they collect their coins! With a pandemic and very little desire to work these days, word to Kim K, scammers are going above and beyond. T-Pain recently encountered one such scammer using his good name to make a buck and wish ’em luck. Apparently, someone has been offering music contracts with T-Pain for a lil’ $300 fee.
“These boys out here actin UP!! GAAAAAHHHDAAAAAMN! If you get this email pls dont be stupid,” T-Pain wrote in an Instagram caption. “And if you fell for it already…Yall know that aint me. And broski who sendin that sh*t out… comon son. Chill bro. Hello my name is T-Pain head a*s chill bro”
T-Pain’s caption was in reference to the email screenshot he also shared. The fake offer begins with a straightforward “hello my name is T-pain.” Then, it makes it crystal that T-Pain “handles all business proposals and inquiries for NAPPY BOY ENTERTAINMENT as the EVP & head of A&R.”
Next, the email offers the reader a compliment by letting them know an “a&r reviewed all [their] music content” and that they have the “potential” to level up in their career. The offer isn’t alladat–to say the least.
And What’s The Catch?
“Nappy Boy Entertainment Label would like to offer you a marketing /distribution publishing deals. We offer special services with our deal such from graphic designs to professional materials. This will help improve your overall brand value working with a distinguished international label,” the email said.
And after the goodies are nice and laid out, our dear scammer set up the slight catch to this distinguished deal with T-Pain.
“There is a small fee of $300 for this to take place which will state the offer was unsolicited. We are located in Tallahassee, Florida should you take the deal your deposit fee will be refunded back,” the scam email said.
“If you’re interested, please inform us now so we may proceed and we will proceed with other vital informations and what payment method do you us,” the email said.
