Taco Bell Entering The #ChickenSandwichWars With New Chicken Sandwich Taco

#Roommates, as the fast food #ChickenSandwichWars continue, Taco Bell has officially entered the chat courtesy of a brand new menu item. While it won’t be a traditional approach, Taco Bell recently announced its plans to release a brand new chicken sandwich taco—that’s described as a combination of crunchy, soft and a little spicy.

@People reports, Taco Bell may not serve chicken in the traditional sense, but that still isn’t stopping them from coming for the chicken sandwich crown. The popular Mexican fast food chain just revealed its plans to serve its new Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco. The newest menu item will reportedly be initially tested in select markets starting on March 11th, with plans to expand if the sandwich is a hit. Participating locations in Nashville, Tennessee and Charlotte, North Carolina will be the testing markets.

The Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco is described as a combination of all-white meat chicken that is marinated in jalapeño buttermilk batter, seasoned with various Mexican spices and rolled in a crunchy tortilla chip coating. The final touch is the “puffy bread” it’s served in that mimics a traditional taco shell, along with Taco Bell’s chipotle sauce. That’s not all, if you want a little more spice in your life, you can try the spicy version that features jalapeño slices.

Meanwhile, obviously noticing the online backlash when they were initially removed, Taco Bell also announced the return of its popular menu items, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Soft Taco. Both items will permanently return to all menus across the country on March 11th.
