#Roommates, you better run for the border and head to Taco Bell immediately if you want to taste the classic Mexican Pizza, Shredded Chicken Burrito and other selected menu items because they are about to be gone! Taco Bell recently announced that some of the company’s most popular menu items will be permanently removed from its menu in just two months due to COVID-19.
@CNBC reports, Taco Bell is cutting down its menu once again—and it’s all because of the ongoing impact of COVID-19. The popular fast food chain just announced that menu staples such as the Mexican Pizza, Shredded Chicken Burrito, Shredded Chicken Soft Taco and the Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt will be a thing of the past on November 5th, when they are removed forever.
The decision is yet other result of the COVID-19 pandemic, as many fast food restaurants (including Taco Bell) have realized that less staff in kitchens and higher demand at its drive-thru lanes meant that trimming back menus, resulted in faster service times and happier customers. Just a few days ago, Taco Bell also stopped serving items like the Nachos Supreme, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Spicy Tostada and the 7-Layer Burrito.
The Mexican Pizza is said to require more than 7 million pounds of paperboard annually for its packaging in the U.S., so its departure will reportedly help the company move closer to its sustainability goals. The company’s Pico de Gallo is out as well in favor of fresh diced tomatoes.
However, while Taco Bell is removing items, more are set to make their debut. November 5th also marks the introduction of the Dragonfruit Freeze beverage and the Chicken Chipotle Melt—and the once-popular Quesalupa will make a nationwide return next year.
