Per the outlet, earlier this month, President Trump sparked alarm when he stated that he was considering military action in Nigeria due to the alleged  “mass slaughter” of Christians by “Islamist insurgents.” Additionally, Trump reportedly threatened to halt U.S. aid to Nigeria, per CNN. Trump’s statements ultimately caught Minaj’s eye.

To note, in response, Nigerian presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga noted his “shock” at Trump’s assertions. Per PEOPLE, “residents and experts” of Nigeria have stated that “the majority” of the victims of the alleged persecution are Muslim rather than Christian.

Tammy Rivera, Amanda Seales & Tamika D. Mallory Weigh In On Nicki Minaj Addressing United Nations On Alleged Christian Persecution In Nigeria

Furthermore, Tammy Rivera even stepped into TSR’s comment section to add, “Please yall don’t be blinded and misguided SMDH! 1. The U.S. rarely ‘intervenes’ unless there’s strategic or financial benefit this is a well-documented pattern in U.S. foreign policy: Oil Mineral access (lithium, cobalt, gold, rare earth metals), Military positioning, Political influence. When countries become more economically independent, especially African nations cutting off old colonial contracts and reclaiming resources, it threatens Western economic interests. That’s why suddenly framing involvement as ‘protecting Christians’ or ‘humanitarian help’ can sound… convenient. WAKE TF UP‼️‼️‼️‼️”
Amid this, Amanda Seales shared a clip on Instagram, noting that Minaj may be ill-informed and aiding in a “ploy.” Meanwhile, Tamika D. Mallory also shared a clip, noting that Trump is attempting to “exploit” Nigeria with Minaj’s aid.
