Taylor Swift Expresses How ‘Sad And Grossed Out’ She Is After Learning About Her Master Recordings Being Sold To Scooter Braun

Taylor Swift didn’t hold her tongue to express her disappointment after she learned that talent manager, Scooter Bruan, now has ownership of her music catalog.

According to Rolling Stone, on Sunday it was announced that Big Machine Label Group, Taylor’s former label, and the owner of the master recordings from her 2006 debut album, to her 2017 album “Reputation,” was sold to Scooter’s Ithaca Holdings in a $300 million deal.

Taylor took to social media to call Scooter out for being a bully, and then she attached the post to a lengthy Tumblr post where she said, “For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead, I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and ‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in. I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract; Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future. I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past. Music I wrote on my bedroom floor and videos I dreamed up and paid for from the money I earned playing in bars, then clubs, then arenas, then stadiums.”

She then went on to talk about the bullying she received from him over the years. She said, “Like when Kim Kardashian orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked and then Scooter got his two clients together to bully me online about it. (See photo) Or when his client, Kanye West, organized a revenge porn music video, which strips my body naked. Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.”

Taylor acknowledged that she accepted the fact that when she left her masters in the hands of Scott Borchetta, the former owner of the label, she knew that he would one day sell them. However, in her worst nightmares, she did not think Scooter would be the buyer.
