Tekashi 69 Sentencing Date Set For December

Tekashi 69 Sentencing Date Set For December

The saga of Tekashi 69 continues on—and the latest development regarding his impending release from prison is set to have the rapper back home much earlier than many initially suspected.

After testifying against his former gang members and reportedly copping a much-talked about plea deal that was set to include top-notch witness protection, protection that Tekashi has allegedly denied upon his release, things could change. Since now, he has even less time to decide what he will do once he is officially out of prison because new reports state that he could be home as early as December.

Tekashi’s previous sentencing date was January 2020, however a recent letter was filed by the federal government to have his sentencing date moved up. This means he will likely receive time served in exchange for his testimony that helped put many of his former gang members behind bars. His new sentencing date is scheduled for December 18th, which could see Tekashi home for the holidays.

As you’ll recall, Tekashi entered a guilty plea to federal charges and cooperated with the federal government back in November 2018. As a result of his cooperation, a judge is highly likely to give him a much shorter sentence than the mandatory 47-year minimum he was facing.

His previous testimonies have proved to be very damaging to his former gang affiliates, specifically former bodyguard Anthony “Harv” Ellison and former associate, Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, who were both found guilty on racketeering charges.
