The FCC Reportedly Received Over 1K Complaints About Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ Performance At The Grammys

Roommates, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion gave a jaw dropping performance of their hit song #WAP at the Grammys last month. While the performance and song are all about embracing female sexuality, it looks like there were a whole lot of viewers who thought the visuals were just a little too risqué.

According to Rolling Stone, the Federal Communications Commission received over 1,000 emails following Cardi and Meg’s performance. Some of the complaints say the performance was “disgusting” and generally inappropriate for television. One complaint even stated that the performance was a “display of sluts being sluts”.

This is really something for women (note: This is Women in History Month) and girls to aspire to. You have got to be kidding me,” the complaint read. “This was a disgusting display of nothing more than sluts being sluts. Is this going to continue? If you do not to anything about this, I will need to seek legal advice regarding any action I may take against you.”

Rolling Stone also cites many complains that accuse the Grammys of objectifying the female body and offending women around the world due to the performance. A woman in one email even stated that she felt “violated” by the “WAP” performance despite being “pro sex-positivity and body positivity”.
