It looks like the NBA is actively working to try to resume the season amid the coronavirus pandemic. On Saturday, Mike Bass, the NBA’s Chief Communications Officer released a statement where he revealed that the league and the National Basketball Players Association are in conversation with the Walt Disney Company, who owns a percentage of ESPN, to get the season up and running again.
In the statement, he said that they’re reaching for late July and things would resume at Disney’s ESPN World-Wide Sports Complex in Florida. The location would serve as a single site for games, practices, and housing.
According to the Associated Press, the complex is a 255-acre campus that consists of multiple arenas where the games could be held. There is no worry about the lack of space when it comes to the campus. The Major League Soccer is reportedly in talks with Disney to resume their season as well. If all goes through, there would be enough space for them and the NBA if they were to be there at the same time.

Bass also talked about the league working to ensure the safety of everyone involved as well. He said, “Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place.”

As we previously reported, the NBA suspended all games indefinitely after Rudy Robert from the Utah Jazz tested positive for the virus back in March.
