‘The Oval’ Star Ciera Payton Cast As Wendy Williams In Lifetime Biopic, Morocco Omari As Kevin Hunter

TSR Updatez: It looks like the Wendy Williams biopic at Lifetime is moving right along despite the pandemic. Producers have found their ‘Wendy’ in “The Oval” star Ciera Payton.

Ciera, a native of Mississippi, has been putting in work since 2007 when she starred in “Flight of Fury” alongside Steven Seagal while she was a junior in college. Since then, she’s had more than two dozen TV and film credits, but it appears in recent years she’s worked mainly within the Tyler Perry family.

Producers for the Wendy film have also cast their Kevin Hunter, who will be played by “P-Valley” star Morocco Omari, Deadline reports.

We just know Wendy fans are ready for all the juicy details of Wendy’s story and hopefully they won’t have to wait too long as production is set to begin this month.

The working title for the biopic is “The Hot Topic.” The film is set to debut in 2021 and will be paired with a feature-length documentary on Wendy.

We all know Wendy is not one to be shy about her personal life. Much like the open book she is, she’ll have a major hand in this project as she is executive producing the authorized biopic, which will reveal the highs and lows Wendy has experienced throughout the years.

It will cover her upbringing in Manhattan and her start in radio, all the way to her reign as talk show queen and her most recent cheating scandal with her now ex-husband Kevin.

Will Packer is also set to executive produce the biopic and Leigh Davenport will write the script for the film. Given the immense talent attached to the project, we’re hopeful this film will deliver!
